Culture & Worldview Fieldbook is a Level 2 course for active workers and small teams operating in cross-cultural environments. It teaches field practitioners how to map local worldview assumptions and communicate the gospel without creating syncretism.

Field Practitioner course

This course is intended for active workers who need practical cultural mapping tools. It should be reviewed by experienced field leaders and local partners before use.

Course Purpose

This course teaches learners to identify the worldview assumptions that shape local rituals, merit systems, and animistic thinking so they can present the gospel clearly and faithfully.

Intended Audience

  • Active field workers in cross-cultural settings.
  • Small teams working with sensitive communities.
  • Mentors and sending partners supporting field practitioners.

Prerequisites

Recommended: Missionary Readiness 101 and Cross-Cultural Service.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, learners should be able to:

  • Describe the six worldview lenses.
  • Explain why animism can lead to syncretism without careful teaching.
  • Use a structured observation model to interpret cultural practice.
  • Map one local ritual through a practical fieldbook framework.
