Spiritual Readiness and Resilience¶
Spiritual Readiness and Resilience prepares learners for missionary service rooted in worship, Scripture, prayer, obedience, and durable love for God and neighbor.
Introductory course
This course is available as an initial public draft. It should be reviewed by responsible ministry leaders before use in formal training.
Course Purpose¶
This course helps learners examine the spiritual practices, character concerns, and accountability relationships needed for faithful missionary service.
Intended Audience¶
- Prospective missionaries.
- Church members preparing for cross-cultural service.
- Mentors, pastors, and sponsors discussing readiness.
Prerequisites¶
Recommended: Missionary Readiness 101.
Learning Objectives¶
By the end of this course, learners should be able to:
- Describe why Spiritual Readiness and Resilience is central to readiness.
- Identify rhythms that sustain prayer, Scripture, worship, and rest.
- Recognize pressures that can expose unhealthy expectations.
- Discuss spiritual readiness honestly with trusted leaders.

Practical Assignment¶
Draft a simple weekly rule of life for the next month. Include Scripture, prayer, worship, rest, service, and one accountability conversation.
Completion Criteria¶
- Review the overview and all lessons.
- Answer the reflection questions.
- Complete the knowledge check.
- Draft and discuss the practical assignment with a mentor, pastor, or trusted leader.
Certificate Of Completion Note¶
This course may later be eligible for a certificate of completion. A certificate of completion is not an accredited certification, academic credit, ordination, commissioning, or professional license.
Facilitator Notes¶
- Keep the discussion concrete and personal without forcing disclosure.
- Watch for signs that a learner needs pastoral care or professional support.
- Encourage durable practices rather than short-term intensity.
